About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Construction Health and Safety Officer to join their team, serving projects in the Wolverhampton area. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all construction activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner, adhering to stringent health and safety legislation and company policies. You will conduct regular site inspections, deliver training, investigate incidents, and implement measures to minimize risks, thereby fostering a strong safety culture across all project sites and contributing to a secure working environment for everyone involved in the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures on construction sites.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and site safety inspections, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and implementing preventative measures.
- Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
Requirements
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and CDM regulations.
- Excellent observational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
