About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Health and Safety Officer to remotely oversee and support safety compliance across their construction sites throughout the UK. This crucial role involves ensuring that all projects adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will conduct risk assessments, develop safety protocols, deliver training, and conduct site audits virtually and occasionally in person where necessary. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture and minimizing risks within the organisation, working collaboratively with site teams and management to achieve zero harm.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures across all construction sites.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses, recommending and implementing control measures.
- Organise and deliver health and safety training programs for site personnel.
- Perform site inspections and audits (both remotely and in-person) to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Advise management on health and safety matters and promote a positive safety culture.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma).
- In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Experience in conducting risk assessments and developing safety management systems.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites remotely.
