Construction Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe and healthy working environment across their sites in and around Stoke-on-Trent . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety strategies, conducting inspections, and providing training to staff. This role is critical in maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Provide health and safety training and guidance to all site personnel and management.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and prepare relevant reports for regulatory bodies.
• Liaise with external regulatory agencies and provide support during inspections.

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Proven experience working as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Strong communication, reporting, and training skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• A proactive approach to risk management and safety promotion.
