About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Health & Safety Officer to ensure the highest safety standards on their projects in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures across various construction sites. This role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to fostering a safe working environment for all personnel. You will conduct regular audits, provide training, and advise management on all safety-related matters, playing a pivotal role in risk reduction and regulatory compliance for our esteemed construction operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety management systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training to site personnel and management.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and training skills.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective control measures.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
