About the Role
Our client, a reputable construction company operating in Northern Ireland , is seeking a vigilant and proactive Construction Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Belfast . This critical role ensures that all construction activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner, safeguarding the well-being of all personnel on site and minimizing environmental impact. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures across various projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated H&S professional to play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture within a leading firm in Belfast .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans for construction sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending preventative measures.
- Provide health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Advise site management and project teams on health and safety best practices.
Requirements
- Recognized qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma).
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer or similar role within the construction industry .
- In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction site requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence others.
- Excellent reporting and investigation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
