About the Role
Our client, a leading organization within the Oil & Gas sector , is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager to lead their safety initiatives remotely, with occasional travel to operations in Belfast . This critical role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive HSE policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment and minimize environmental impact. You will champion a proactive safety culture, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance across all company operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned HSE professional to shape safety standards and make a tangible difference in a vital industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust HSE management systems and strategies aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide HSE training and guidance to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within the Oil & Gas or a related heavy industry.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation, standards, and risk assessment techniques.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective HSE programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) are highly desirable.
