Construction Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment across their sites in Wolverhampton . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing health and safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments, and providing safety training to site personnel. This vital role contributes to maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach to risk management and a passion for workplace safety in the West Midlands construction sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site teams.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and project management teams on safety matters.

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety .
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent observational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively on site and contribute to office-based planning.
