Construction Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a dedicated and vigilant Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment on all their sites in and around Glasgow . You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures, conducting regular inspections, and providing training to site personnel. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with legislation and fostering a strong safety culture within the construction industry across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety management systems for construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, reporting findings and implementing preventative measures.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Advise site management on all aspects of health, safety, and environmental protection.

Requirements

• Recognized qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National General Certificate or Diploma).
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction sector.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction site requirements.
• Excellent communication, auditing, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and build strong relationships with site teams.
• Proficiency in using safety management software is an advantage.
