About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Construction Health and Safety Officer to join their team, supporting projects in the Norwich area. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment across all construction sites, ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures, conducting site inspections, and providing training to site personnel. This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site presence and office-based administration, contributing to a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, reporting findings and recommending preventative measures.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and construction best practices.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence behaviour.
• Proficiency in creating safety reports and maintaining records.
