Construction Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment across their projects in Brighton . You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures on construction sites, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to site personnel. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with legal requirements and promoting a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential hazards. This position is integral to the successful and responsible delivery of construction projects in East Sussex .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Perform risk assessments and develop method statements for specific construction activities.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting findings and recommending preventative measures.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, and incident reports.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification such as NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills .
• Ability to work independently and build strong relationships with site teams.
• A proactive and meticulous approach to safety management.
