Construction Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer to join their highly regarded construction and engineering team. This is a fully remote position, serving clients nationally and supporting complex projects from inception through to completion. You will provide expert legal advice on a wide range of construction and engineering matters, including contract drafting, dispute resolution, and risk management. This role is ideal for a lawyer passionate about the construction sector who thrives in a collaborative, remote-first environment and wants to contribute to significant infrastructure and development projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and related documents.
• Advise clients on construction procurement strategies and risk allocation.
• Manage and resolve disputes arising from construction projects, including adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.
• Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle, from design to completion and handover.
• Advise on issues related to planning, environmental law, and health and safety in construction.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' experience specializing in construction law .
• In-depth knowledge of standard form construction contracts and bespoke agreements.
• Experience in construction dispute resolution, including contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Strong understanding of UK construction and engineering industry practices.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and client relationships.
