About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Lawyer to join their highly regarded practice in Bristol . This role offers the opportunity to work on significant construction and engineering projects, advising a diverse client base including developers, contractors, and consultants. You will be an integral part of a busy team, managing contentious and non-contentious construction matters. The position is based in our client's modern Bristol office, providing a dynamic and professional environment where you can further develop your expertise in this specialised field of law. Collaboration and client-focused service are at the heart of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on all aspects of construction law , including drafting and negotiating building contracts, professional appointments, and collateral warranties.
- Manage disputes arising from construction projects, including adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.
- Conduct legal due diligence for construction-related transactions and developments.
- Provide guidance on planning law, environmental regulations, and health and safety compliance within the construction sector.
- Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 4 years' experience in construction law .
- Solid understanding of both contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering legal issues.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating standard form contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and bespoke agreements.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage client relationships from our Bristol office.
