About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Lawyer to join their esteemed legal department in Nottingham . This role is central to advising on complex construction projects, from procurement and contract negotiation through to dispute resolution. You will work alongside project managers, engineers, and external consultants, ensuring legal and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction law specialist to manage high-profile projects and contribute to the successful delivery of significant developments within a reputable firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on the drafting, negotiation, and execution of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Provide legal support on all phases of construction projects, including procurement and development.
- Manage and resolve construction disputes, including adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.
- Advise on planning law, health and safety regulations, and environmental issues related to construction.
- Conduct legal due diligence for construction-related transactions and investments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction law and industry best practices in the UK .
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a minimum of 5 years' experience in construction law .
- Demonstrable expertise in advising on contentious and non-contentious construction matters.
- In-depth knowledge of standard forms of building contracts and procurement routes.
- Experience in managing construction disputes and claims.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple project demands.
