Construction Manager

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Construction Manager on a 6 Month Contract based in Scotland.

Role Summary

You’ll report to the Project Manager and run concrete and groundworks delivery day to day. Agents, site managers, engineers and foremen will report to you. You’ll also own the commercial side of your area with the QS. This is a hands-on site role for someone who knows the work and the money behind it.

Responsibilities

• Delivering foundations, bases, pours, earthworks, drainage, ducts and cable routes

• Managing temporary works interfaces

• Running subcontractors, including valuations and day-to-day performance

• Raising and managing NEC early warnings and compensation events

• Controlling cost on your packages, working closely with the QS

• Short interval planning and weekly look-aheads against the master programme

• Keeping quality tight: ITPs, inspections, pour records and handover documentation

• Leading and developing the site team below you

Requirements

• Experience as a Civils Construction Manager with a main contractor, or as a senior agent already doing the CM job

• A strong track record in concrete and groundworks delivery on large civils sites

• Real contractor commercial experience: subcontractor valuations, NEC events and cost control

• Experience managing agents, site managers, engineers and supervisors

• SMSTS, CSCS Black Card and CDM

• Willingness to be on site full time. Candidates happy to work away are welcome.
