Construction Manager | £20m Commercial Fit-Out, City of London Day rate: £300–£325 (DOE) - CIS or Ltd (TBC) Contract: 16 months Project value: c. £20m + Location: City of London (Farringdon) An experienced freelance Construction Manager is required to work as part of a team, reporting to a PM, on a high-profile £20m commercial fit-out and refurbishment in Central London, delivered by a respected contractor specialising in high-end commercial interiors and structural reconfiguration. The Project A prominent corner office building is being transformed through a complete refurbishment and extension of the existing structure, creating a superior grade office environment while retaining the existing primary structure. Scope includes:
- Full Cat A & Cat B fit-out
- Cut & carve works, including structural removals, floor additions and basement alterations
- Removal of the existing low-quality façades and top-floor roof level
- New high-quality stone and brick façade
- New two-storey extension
- Improved thermal envelope and urban greening to terraces
- New end-of-trip cycle facilities
- High-spec finishes throughout
- Logistically challenging Central London location Your Responsibilities
- Work as part of the site team, reporting to a senior CM and PM, on day-to-day site operations across an area/floors
- Support programme, sequencing and subcontractor coordination
- Help oversee structural and fit-out packages concurrently
- Maintain strict H&S compliance and quality standards
- Assist with logistics management in a constrained urban environment
- Liaise with client, consultants and subcontractors to resolve technical challenges
- Support delivery of high-end finishes to exacting standards What We're Looking For
- Proven experience delivering Cat A/B fit-out or structural refurb projects (£10m+ preferred)
- Strong background working with reputable main contractors or fit-out tier 1 specialists
- Confident working within complex cut & carve programmes
- Excellent technical understanding and drawing interpretation
- Strong team player with the ability to support site performance What's on Offer
