About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Construction Planner to join their established team in Reading . You will be responsible for developing and managing detailed project schedules, ensuring efficient resource allocation and timely project completion for a variety of construction projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical abilities and a deep understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing. You will play a vital role in the successful planning and execution of projects within the Thames Valley region's dynamic construction industry .
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, programmes, and schedules using planning software.
- Analyse project scope, requirements, and potential risks to create realistic timelines.
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather information and ensure schedule accuracy.
- Monitor project progress against the plan, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, including critical path analysis and look-ahead programmes.
- Undertake site visits as required to assess progress and planning requirements in the Reading area.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, or MS Project.
- Strong understanding of construction processes , sequencing, and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience in a hybrid working model, balancing site and office-based tasks.
