Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client, a renowned construction company, is seeking a skilled Construction Planner to join their dynamic team in Reading . This role is integral to the successful execution of complex construction projects, involving the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure all phases of construction are meticulously planned, coordinated, and monitored. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mind and a proven track record in construction planning and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using planning software.
• Collaborate with project managers and site teams to define project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within the project timeline and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project progress against the plan, reporting on variances and forecasting completion dates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of resources and materials.
• Facilitate planning meetings and provide support to the project team on scheduling matters.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
• Proficiency in using scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and project lifecycles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and project documentation.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is an advantage.
