Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Construction Planner to join their team, supporting a diverse portfolio of projects in Southampton . This role is critical in developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive project schedules. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for logical sequencing, resource allocation, and risk management within the fast-paced construction environment . This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both from home and on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Analyze project scope, specifications, and site constraints to create realistic timelines.
• Coordinate with all project stakeholders to gather input and ensure buy-in for the project plan.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, identifying potential delays and developing mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports, forecasts, and resource requirement updates.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress, identify potential risks, and update the schedule accordingly.
• Manage the planning aspects of variations and contractual changes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler, ideally within the building or infrastructure sectors.
• Proficiency in advanced planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a dynamic setting.
• Relevant construction or project management qualification is advantageous.
