Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Planner to join their team supporting projects in and around Sheffield . This role is vital for ensuring that construction projects are meticulously planned and executed according to schedule. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating comprehensive project plans, coordinating with site teams, and identifying potential risks to timely completion. This position offers a great opportunity to contribute to the success of diverse construction projects while working within a flexible, hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction project schedules using planning software.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather information for planning.
• Identify critical path activities, potential delays, and resource constraints.
• Prepare and present progress reports, looking ahead reports, and programme updates to stakeholders.
• Assist in the planning of logistics, sequencing of work, and site setup.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline plan and recommend adjustments as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta PowerProject.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and sequencing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
