Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join their team, supporting projects across the Sheffield region. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating detailed project programmes, ensuring all stakeholders have a clear understanding of timelines and milestones. This role is critical for effective project delivery, requiring a strong analytical mind and the ability to anticipate potential risks and delays. You will work collaboratively with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to optimize construction schedules and ensure efficient resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed master programmes and phasing plans for complex construction projects.
• Create and maintain accurate construction schedules, incorporating dependencies, resources, and critical path analysis.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather information and update programmes regularly.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities within the schedule, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Prepare progress reports and presentations for senior management and clients.
• Collaborate with subcontractors to integrate their schedules into the overall project plan.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or in a similar scheduling role within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and project management principles.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex project data.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
• Degree or HND in Construction, Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
