Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Construction Planner to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is critical in developing and managing comprehensive construction schedules, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and on time. You will be responsible for creating detailed project plans, identifying critical paths, managing resources, and mitigating potential delays. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes and excellent proficiency in planning software, contributing to the successful execution of various building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction project schedules using planning software.
• Identify critical path activities and potential programme risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and project managers to gather progress information.
• Prepare and present programme updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders.
• Analyse site progress and resource allocation to ensure adherence to the master schedule.
• Collaborate on buildability reviews and sequencing of works.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or scheduler.
• Proficiency in construction planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and resource management.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret project plans and specifications.
• Good communication and reporting capabilities.
