About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Construction Planner to join their team, supporting projects primarily located in and around Edinburgh , with flexible/remote working options available. You will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating comprehensive project schedules, ensuring that construction activities are coordinated effectively to meet deadlines and milestones. This role is critical in optimizing project workflows, identifying potential delays, and communicating schedule information to project teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes and master schedules using planning software.
- Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather information for schedule updates and revisions.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, identify critical path activities, and forecast potential delays.
- Prepare regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and schedule impact assessments.
- Support the tendering process by developing initial project timelines and sequencing.
- Analyse project risks and propose mitigation strategies related to schedule performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency in construction planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Asta Powerproject.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and methodologies across various project types.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with project teams.
