Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Construction Planner to join their team based in Edinburgh . This role is critical for the successful execution of major construction projects, ensuring that timelines are met and resources are optimally utilized. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring complex construction schedules, identifying potential risks, and coordinating with various project teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction processes and proficiency in planning software, essential for managing projects within the dynamic Scottish construction landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed master schedules for construction projects using planning software.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors to gather information for schedule development and updates.
• Identify critical path activities and potential delays, implementing strategies to mitigate risks.
• Prepare regular progress reports, including schedule variance analysis and look-ahead schedules.
• Ensure that all planned activities comply with health and safety regulations and project requirements.
• Participate in tender planning and bid preparation by providing preliminary construction schedules.

Requirements

• A degree or HND in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience as a Construction Planner or Senior Scheduler.
• Proficiency in using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing for various project types.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
