About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join their team, offering a hybrid working arrangement based in Edinburgh . You will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes and schedules, ensuring that projects are delivered efficiently and meet all deadlines. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of construction processes and sequencing. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to create realistic and achievable plans, identify potential delays, and implement mitigation strategies. Your input will be crucial for the successful coordination and execution of complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and update detailed construction master programmes and schedules.
- Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, milestones, and critical path activities.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact the project schedule.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports and schedule updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Utilize planning software to create visual representations of project timelines and sequences.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequences.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse project teams.
- Experience in a hybrid working environment, balancing office and remote duties.
