About the Role
Our client, a prominent main contractor, is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join their team based near Oxford . This role is essential for developing and maintaining robust project schedules, ensuring that all construction activities are logically sequenced, resourced adequately, and delivered on time. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to create realistic and achievable plans that support project success in the competitive construction industry . This is a key position for a meticulous planner looking to contribute to significant projects within the Oxford region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project programmes and schedules using planning software.
- Collaborate with project teams to define project scopes, sequences, and timelines.
- Identify critical path activities and potential project risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Prepare regular progress reports and updates for project stakeholders.
- Analyse tender information to assist in bid preparation and develop initial project plans.
- Monitor site progress and update schedules accordingly, advising on resource allocation and potential delays.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or in a similar planning role within the construction sector .
- Proficiency in using planning software such as Primavera P6, ASTA Powerproject, or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Relevant degree or qualification in Construction Management or a related field is preferred.
