Construction Project Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and technically adept Construction Project Engineer to support their projects in and around Oxford . This role is crucial for ensuring the successful technical execution of construction works, bridging the gap between design and on-site delivery. You will assist project managers in coordinating activities, managing technical queries, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. This is a hands-on position requiring strong engineering fundamentals and excellent on-site problem-solving capabilities within the construction sector .

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the site team, resolving engineering queries and discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, and lift plans.
• Monitor construction progress against the project schedule and report on deviations.
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards .
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Maintain site records, including daily reports, progress photos, and site instructions.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Some experience as a Project Engineer or Site Engineer within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and health and safety regulations .
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with site-based software and general IT proficiency.
