Construction Site Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to oversee operations on their construction sites in and around Portsmouth . You will be responsible for guiding and supervising daily site activities, ensuring that work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards. This role involves direct supervision of tradespeople and laborers, coordination with subcontractors, and maintaining site order and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong practical understanding of construction methods and a commitment to fostering a productive and safe working environment on challenging projects within the Portsmouth area.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of site personnel and subcontractors.
• Ensure adherence to construction schedules, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and identify potential issues.
• Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment to the site.
• Report on site progress, issues, and resource needs to the Site Manager.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Supervisor or in a similar leadership role on site.
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and building regulations.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
