Contract Senior Fire Safety Consultant

Contract Senior Fire Safety Consultant £450–£500 per day. Manchester. An established fire consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Fire Safety Consultant to undertake Fire Risk Assessments across commercial and residential building contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience in fire risk assessment, compartmentation surveys and fire safety consultancy, with a good understanding of fire safety legislation, building regulations and passive fire protection. Candidates with backgrounds in fire safety enforcement, consultancy or local authority fire safety services are particularly encouraged to apply.

The Role

• Undertake Fire Risk Assessments across commercial and residential properties.
• Carry out compartmentation surveys and assess passive fire protection.
• Review fire doors, fire stopping, means of escape and fire safety systems.
• Identify fire safety deficiencies and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
• Produce detailed FRA reports and provide technical fire safety advice to clients.
• Review fire safety strategies and provide guidance on regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with clients, building control, architects and fire and rescue services. Experience & Requirements
• Experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments across commercial and residential premises.
• Good knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
• Understanding of Approved Document B, BS 9999 and relevant British Standards.
• Knowledge of compartmentation, passive fire protection and fire doors.
• Strong technical report-writing and client-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage assignments. Desirable experience:
• External Wall Fire Risk Appraisals (FRAEW) in accordance with PAS 9980.
• Fire safety strategy reviews and fire engineering principles.

Qualifications

A recognised fire safety qualification is preferred, alongside professional membership or registration with a recognised organisation or competency scheme such as IFE, IFSM or TFRAR.
