About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Contracts Manager to oversee all contractual aspects of construction projects in the Bristol region. You will be responsible for managing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies, and mitigating commercial risks. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of construction law, procurement processes, and financial management. You will act as the primary point of contact for legal and commercial matters, working closely with project teams, clients, and external legal counsel to safeguard the company's interests and ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the entire lifecycle of construction contracts, from tender stage to final account.
Draft, review, and negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Ensure all contractual obligations are met and advise on potential claims or disputes.
Monitor contract performance and compliance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
Oversee the tendering process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procurement policies.
Manage the change order process and variations effectively.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement procedures, and construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT).
Strong negotiation, analytical, and risk management skills.
Excellent understanding of financial management and cost control principles.
Degree in Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is highly desirable.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
