About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and commercially astute Contracts Manager to oversee contractual agreements for their diverse construction projects based in Portsmouth . You will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and managing all contracts to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and optimise project outcomes. This role requires a strong understanding of construction law and a proven track record in contract administration. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from tendering to project completion.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Draft, review, and interpret complex construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Monitor contract performance and ensure adherence to all clauses and obligations.
- Manage variations, claims, and disputes, seeking timely and effective resolutions.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice to project teams and senior management.
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Contract Administrator in the construction sector .
- In-depth knowledge of various forms of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, FIDIC).
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of risk management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and legal drafting skills.
- Degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload.
