This is a hands-on technical accounting role for a fully qualified accountant with recent experience within a District or Borough Council. Initially, the successful candidate will be required to work onsite in Rugby for approximately four days per week for the first couple of weeks. The successful candidate must also be prepared to attend meetings across the county when required.

Taking ownership of wider corporate finance issues and priorities as required. Providing hands-on support across the finance function to ensure key statutory and operational requirements are delivered.

The ideal candidate for the Corporate Finance Manager role will have:

A full professional accountancy qualification and membership of an appropriate professional accounting body. Strong technical accounting experience and a genuinely hands-on approach. Recent and sufficient experience within a District or Borough Council. Proven experience producing local authority Statements of Accounts and supporting external audit. Strong knowledge of VAT, CIS, Fixed Assets, Treasury Management, Banking, Cash Flow, Delta returns and WGA. The ability to work independently across a broad corporate finance function rather than simply managing a team. Flexibility to work onsite in Rugby initially and attend meetings across Warwickshire when required.
