About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to join their team in Reading . This role is essential in assessing the creditworthiness of potential and existing clients, ensuring sound lending practices and managing financial risk. You will analyze financial statements, credit histories, and market data to make informed recommendations regarding credit approvals and terms. Working within a key financial institution, you will contribute to the stability and growth of the loan portfolio by making prudent credit decisions, operating within a dedicated team focused on risk mitigation and client service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, reports, and credit data to assess the credit risk of individuals and businesses.
- Prepare comprehensive credit reports and make recommendations on loan applications.
- Monitor the financial performance of existing borrowers and identify any potential credit deterioration.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit files and documentation.
- Liaise with loan officers and relationship managers to gather necessary information and discuss credit decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Credit Analyst or in a similar credit assessment role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Good understanding of financial statements, ratios, and credit scoring methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly.
