About the Role
Our client is seeking a meticulous and insightful Credit Risk Analyst to join their expanding risk management department in Leeds . This role is critical in assessing and mitigating credit risk exposures across the company's lending portfolio. You will be responsible for developing and implementing credit scoring models, analyzing financial statements of potential borrowers, and monitoring the health of existing credit facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and implement quantitative credit risk models for assessing borrower default probabilities.
- Analyze financial statements, industry data, and market trends to evaluate creditworthiness of new and existing clients.
- Monitor the credit portfolio, identifying deteriorating credits and recommending appropriate actions.
- Prepare detailed credit reports and risk assessments for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit policies and procedures.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in credit risk management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in credit risk analysis, corporate lending, or financial analysis within the banking sector.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and credit scoring methodologies.
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills.
