About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Credit Risk Manager to lead their risk assessment efforts for a growing loan portfolio. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the UK while shaping the credit risk strategy for our Leeds -based operations. You will be responsible for developing and implementing robust credit policies, monitoring portfolio health, and mitigating potential financial risks. This is a critical role that demands sharp analytical skills, a deep understanding of credit markets, and the ability to make sound judgments in a dynamic economic landscape. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk policies and procedures.
- Analyze loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and set appropriate lending limits.
- Monitor the credit quality of the loan portfolio and identify potential areas of concern.
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate portfolio resilience under adverse conditions.
- Prepare comprehensive credit risk reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure effective risk management practices are embedded across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in credit risk management, loan underwriting, or financial analysis within the banking sector .
- Strong understanding of credit risk models, regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel), and financial markets.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical software.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
