About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Credit Risk Manager to lead their credit risk function in Sheffield . This leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing robust credit risk policies and procedures to manage the organization's lending portfolio effectively. You will oversee risk assessment, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and mitigating potential losses within the banking and finance sector. This is a critical position requiring strong analytical acumen and leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and refine credit risk policies, strategies, and frameworks.
• Oversee the assessment and underwriting of complex credit applications for corporate and institutional clients.
• Monitor the credit quality of the loan portfolio, identifying potential problem areas and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain credit risk models and metrics for portfolio analysis and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements related to credit risk management.
• Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and risk professionals.
• Present credit risk assessments and portfolio performance to senior management and board committees.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field; MBA or equivalent experience is highly valued.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in credit risk management, credit analysis, or portfolio management within the banking and finance industry.
• In-depth knowledge of credit risk principles, financial statement analysis, and various loan structures.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III/IV, CRR).
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in statistical modeling and risk management software.
