About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Manager to join their expanding team in Manchester . This critical role involves overseeing and managing the credit risk exposure of the organization, developing and implementing robust credit policies, and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks. You will play a key part in assessing borrower creditworthiness, mitigating potential losses, and contributing to the strategic risk management of the institution. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk policies, procedures, and methodologies.
- Analyze credit applications, financial statements, and market data to assess the creditworthiness of corporate and institutional clients.
- Monitor the credit quality of the loan portfolio, identify early warning signals, and manage problem loans.
- Prepare comprehensive credit reports and risk assessments for senior management and regulatory bodies.
- Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts, fostering a culture of risk awareness and sound credit judgment.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal risk management standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in credit risk management, corporate lending, or financial analysis within the banking sector.
- Strong understanding of credit risk modeling, financial statement analysis, and risk mitigation techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., Basel Accords).
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and leadership skills.
- Experience with credit risk management software is highly desirable.
