About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Manager to oversee and enhance their credit risk management framework in Manchester . This key role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring credit policies and procedures to mitigate potential losses and ensure compliance with regulatory standards within the Banking & Finance industry. You will lead a team of risk analysts, providing essential guidance on credit assessments, portfolio monitoring, and risk mitigation strategies. This is a vital position for maintaining the financial health and stability of the institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement robust credit risk policies, procedures, and controls.
- Monitor and analyze the credit portfolio to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Lead and mentor a team of credit risk analysts, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Assess the creditworthiness of corporate clients and counterparties.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel accords) and internal guidelines.
- Report on credit risk exposures and portfolio quality to senior management and regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in credit risk management, preferably within banking or financial services.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing credit risk frameworks and models.
- Strong understanding of credit scoring, portfolio analysis, and risk mitigation techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and capital adequacy frameworks.
