About the Role

Our client seeks a highly analytical Crop Scientist to join their research and development team, based remotely but with potential site visits to operations near Milton Keynes . This role is dedicated to advancing crop performance through scientific research, focusing on optimizing planting, growth, and yield in various agricultural settings. You will be at the forefront of developing new methodologies and evaluating crop resilience against environmental challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct field and laboratory experiments to evaluate crop varieties and agricultural inputs.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical methods to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
• Develop and refine best practices for crop cultivation, pest management, and nutrient application.
• Research and identify innovative solutions for improving crop yields, quality, and disease resistance.
• Collaborate with farm managers and agronomists to implement research findings on commercial farms.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in experimental design and statistical analysis of agricultural data.
• Strong understanding of plant physiology, genetics, and soil science.
• Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage research projects remotely.
