About the Role
Our client is looking for a passionate and skilled Culinary Team Lead to oversee their patisserie section in a high-end establishment in Cambridge . You will be responsible for leading a small team of pastry chefs, ensuring the creation of exquisite desserts, pastries, and baked goods to the highest standards. This role requires a blend of technical pastry skills, creative flair, and strong leadership capabilities, contributing to the gastronomic reputation of our client in the vibrant city of Cambridge .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of pastry chefs in daily operations, ensuring high-quality production.
- Develop innovative and appealing dessert menus, seasonal specials, and special occasion items.
- Maintain impeccable standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and hygiene in the patisserie.
- Manage ingredient sourcing, inventory control, and waste reduction for the pastry section.
- Ensure all pastry creations meet strict quality and consistency guidelines.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and culinary development.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Sous Pastry Chef, with demonstrable leadership qualities.
- Expertise in a wide range of baking and pastry techniques, including cakes, breads, and confectionery.
- Creative flair and a passion for developing new and exciting dessert concepts.
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain high standards in a busy environment.
