We’re working with a specialist technology business that designs, manufactures and supports advanced communication and network systems for aviation, defence, government and other critical communications customers worldwide.
Their technology includes Datalink systems, Network Monitoring and Network Voting systems, and air-to-ground communication links, with projects spanning fixed sites, mobile locations and ships.
We’re looking for a Customer Support Engineer – International to join the technical team in Wappenham. This is a highly customer-facing role providing hands-on technical support across UK and international customer projects.
Approximately 70% of the role is site-based, with the remaining 30% split between office and remote working. Worldwide travel is an important part of the position.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct UK and worldwide site surveys across fixed, mobile and ship locations
*
Install, commission and maintain Datalink, Network Monitoring and Network Voting systems
*
Commission air-to-ground communication links worldwide
*
Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing and customer trials
*
Write trial plans and support customer demonstrations
*
Carry out second-line repairs within the workshop
*
Order and pack installation materials
*
Arrange shipping and customs documentation
*
Produce technical publications, system manuals and white papers
*
Develop and deliver technical training on equipment
*
Capture customer requirements to support Sales
*
Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance at customer sites
What We’re Looking For
*
Proven experience in technical operations and customer-facing environments
*
Background in communications, defence, aviation or a similar technical sector
*
Experience with installation, commissioning and maintenance of communication systems
*
Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
*
Ability to explain technical information to both end-users and senior stakeholders
*
Experience with technical documentation, reporting and compliance
*
Customer-focused approach with strong attention to detail
*
Experience delivering technical training would be advantageous
*
Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
*
Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally
