Cybersecurity Analyst - SOC

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join their Security Operations Center (SOC) in Glasgow . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats, safeguarding the company's digital assets. You will work with cutting-edge security tools and technologies to analyze security alerts, investigate incidents, and implement mitigation strategies. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and a passion for protecting organizations from evolving cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Investigate potential security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
• Develop and refine incident response playbooks and procedures.
• Conduct threat hunting activities to proactively identify and mitigate emerging threats.
• Provide recommendations for improving security posture and implementing new security controls.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure security best practices are followed across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or SOC analyst role.
• Familiarity with security concepts such as network protocols, malware analysis , and vulnerability management.
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM ) tools.
• Understanding of threat landscapes and common attack vectors.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC are a plus.
