Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join their dedicated security team in Glasgow . You will play a crucial role in protecting the organization's digital assets by monitoring security threats, investigating incidents, and implementing preventative measures. This position demands a proactive approach to security, attention to detail, and a commitment to staying ahead of evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from various systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS) to detect and respond to potential threats.
• Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and recommend remediation actions.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role, such as Security Operations Center (SOC) analysis or incident response.
• Strong understanding of network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and common attack vectors.
• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST or ISO 27001.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
