Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Cybersecurity Analyst to join their expanding security team in Edinburgh . In this role, you will be instrumental in monitoring and defending the organization's IT infrastructure against cyber threats. You will analyze security data, respond to incidents, and contribute to the development and implementation of security measures. This position offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, supporting a balanced approach to work and professional engagement within the vibrant tech community of Edinburgh .

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, including SIEM and IDS/IPS, for potential threats and anomalies.
• Investigate security alerts, perform initial triage, and escalate incidents as needed.
• Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and assist with the remediation of identified weaknesses.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of security documentation and procedures.
• Support security awareness initiatives and training programs for employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT security role.
• Knowledge of network security principles, common attack vectors, and security best practices.
• Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good written and verbal communication.
