About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join their security team based in Southampton . This role is crucial for monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats across the organization's network and systems. You will be involved in analyzing security alerts, investigating suspicious activities, and implementing preventative measures. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between remote work and in-office collaboration at our Southampton location. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems and analyze security alerts for potential threats.
• Investigate security incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, reporting findings to stakeholders.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures.
• Respond to security breaches and manage incident response activities.
• Maintain and update security documentation and incident response plans.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst or in a similar security operations role.
• Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection.
• Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common cyber attack vectors.
• Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify security anomalies.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+) are advantageous.
