Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join their IT security team in Plymouth . This role is essential for protecting the organization's digital assets from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, investigating incidents, and implementing preventative measures to safeguard our client's data and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and other security tools.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Assist in the maintenance and configuration of security hardware and software.
• Provide security awareness training to employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
• Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Knowledge of network security, endpoint security, and threat detection techniques.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH) are a plus.
