Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Cybersecurity Analyst to join their dedicated IT and Software team in Edinburgh . Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from various systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) to detect and respond to potential threats.
• Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement remediation plans.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
• Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security best practices and controls across the infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM tools , intrusion detection/prevention systems, and firewalls.
• Knowledge of common attack vectors, vulnerability management, and incident response methodologies.
• Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable.
