Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join their expanding security operations center in Liverpool, Merseyside . In this role, you will be on the front lines of defense, monitoring systems for security threats, analyzing alerts, and responding to potential security incidents. You will play a key role in protecting the organization's digital assets and ensuring the integrity of its IT infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging cybersecurity professional to gain hands-on experience in a critical security function within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Perform initial analysis and triage of security incidents, escalating as necessary.
• Conduct investigations into potential security breaches and unauthorized access attempts.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of security documentation and playbooks.
• Contribute to vulnerability management efforts by identifying and reporting system weaknesses.
• Stay informed about current cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in a cybersecurity or IT security-related role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools , intrusion detection systems, and network monitoring concepts.
• Understanding of common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methodologies.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly.
