About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Analyst to join their expanding security team in Manchester . You will be responsible for monitoring the organization's networks and systems for security breaches and investigating suspicious activities. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software, for potential threats.
• Analyze security alerts and events, conducting thorough investigations into security incidents and anomalies.
• Respond to and manage security incidents, including documentation, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential security gaps and recommend remediation actions.
• Contribute to the improvement of security operations processes and the adoption of new security technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
• Solid understanding of common security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
• Experience with security monitoring tools, such as SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions.
• Knowledge of network protocols and security principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
