Cybersecurity Operations Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cybersecurity Operations Lead to manage and enhance their security operations center (SOC) from a remote position, supporting their operations in Milton Keynes . This role is crucial for the real-time monitoring, detection, and response to cyber threats. You will lead a team of security analysts, ensuring the continuous protection of the organization's digital infrastructure and data. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in SOC operations, incident management, and threat intelligence, possessing excellent leadership skills and a passion for cybersecurity, contributing to a robust and resilient security framework that safeguards our client's assets against sophisticated attacks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Develop and refine incident detection and response procedures and playbooks.
• Oversee the analysis of security alerts and logs, ensuring timely and effective incident escalation and resolution.
• Manage and optimize the deployment and effectiveness of SOC tools and technologies (SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence platforms).
• Conduct threat hunting activities to proactively identify and neutralize potential security risks.
• Train and mentor SOC analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a lead or management role within a SOC environment.
• Strong technical proficiency in threat detection , incident response, and digital forensics.
• Experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) tools.
• Knowledge of various attack vectors, malware analysis, and network protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Relevant certifications such as GCIH, GCIA, or CISSP are highly advantageous.
