Cybersecurity Operations Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Operations Lead to spearhead their security operations center (SOC) in Birmingham . This leadership position is crucial for maintaining the day-to-day security posture of the organization, overseeing incident response, threat hunting, and the proactive defense against cyber-attacks. You will lead a team of skilled analysts, drive operational excellence, and ensure the effectiveness of security monitoring tools and processes. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of cybersecurity analysts responsible for 24/7 monitoring and incident response.
• Develop, implement, and refine Security Operations Center (SOC) processes and procedures.
• Oversee the detection, investigation, and remediation of security incidents and breaches.
• Manage and optimize SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other security technologies.
• Conduct threat intelligence analysis and proactive threat hunting to identify emerging risks.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure and application development teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the business.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in cybersecurity operations, with a proven track record in incident response and SOC management.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• In-depth knowledge of SIEM tools , network security principles, and common attack vectors.
• Experience with threat intelligence platforms and vulnerability management tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or relevant security operational certifications are required.
